Physiotherapy

When receiving physio treatments at Le Physique, clients can expect a thorough consultation by our highly trained experts. Our consultation includes a comprehensive assessment, manual therapy for pain relief, a treatment management plan and a home exercise program tailored to you for optimal recovery and performance.

We treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including sporting injuries, pre- and post-operative repairs, headaches, migraines, jaw pain, neck and lower back pain and pregnancy related physio.

Whether you’re recovering from surgery, managing a musculoskeletal condition, or seeking injury prevention strategies, physiotherapy provides targeted solutions to help you reduce pain, regain strength and mobility.

By addressing the root cause of discomfort rather than just treating your symptoms, Physiotherapy empowers individuals to lead a healthier, more active life.

Yes, we are highly experienced with treating headaches and migraine management. Our physios employ a range of targeted manual therapy techniques including dry needling, cupping, soft tissue release, and joint mobilisation alongside postural correction and tailored exercise programs to relieve pain and reduce the likelihood of future episodes.

Trigger Point Dry Needling

Trigger Point Dry Needling (TPDN) is one of many treatment techniques employed by our physios to relieve muscle pain and dysfunction. The therapy involves inserting fine, sterile one time use needles into myofascial trigger points thereby releasing muscle tension, improving circulation and relieving joint stiffness. TPDN is highly effective for resetting painful movement patterns and is a recommended treatment for promoting faster healing, injury recovery and relief from chronic pain.

Dry needling offers several benefits, including:

  • Pain Relief
  • Improved Joint Mobility
  • Speeds up healing
  • Releases tight muscle spasms
  • Promotes circulation aiding tissue repair
  • Complimentary Treatment – Works well alongside other physio techniques

Dry needling is an effective adjunctive treatment for acute and chronic back pain, chronic neck pain, tension type and migraine headaches, pelvic girdle pain, knee osteoarthritis, lateral elbow pain and shoulder conditions.

Dry needling is a common treatment and generally safe when performed by a qualified physio. The needles used are very thin, sterile, and single use. Some mild side effects may include temporary soreness, slight bruising, or fatigue, but these typically subside within a day or two. Your physio will assess your condition and medical history to ensure it’s a suitable treatment for you.

Dry Needling and Acupuncture differ in the benefits and needle placements. Dry Needling aims to reduce pain and restore functional movement through the release of myofascial trigger points, correcting your biomechanics and reducing joint stiffness. Alternatively, Acupuncture is based on the traditional Eastern philosophy of restoring the balance of energy meridians in the body, thus calming the nervous system and reducing pain.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy is a natural treatment that uses suction to increase circulation, relieve muscle tension, and support the body’s healing process.

Cupping therapy is a therapeutic technique used to promote circulation, reduce muscle tension, and accelerate recovery. This treatment involves placing specialised cups on the skin to create a vacuum-like suction, which gently lifts the tissues, increasing blood flow and promoting the body’s natural healing processes.

Physios integrate cupping therapy into treatment plans to complement hands-on techniques such as soft tissue releases and dry needling.

It can be particularly effective for conditions such as:

  • Back, neck, and shoulder pain
  • Sports injuries and muscle strains
  • Postural imbalances and mobility restrictions
  • Chronic pain conditions like fibromyalgia

Cupping therapy is a safe, no risk and effective method to enhancing recovery, relieving tension, and improving an individual’s overall mobility.

Supervised Exercise Rehabilitation

Exercise rehabilitation is key to long-term pain relief, improved mobility, and injury prevention. It helps strengthen muscles, boost bone density, and break the chronic pain cycle. At our clinic, we offer supervised evidence-based exercise programs tailored to your specific needs and goals. Whether you’re doing simple home exercises or more advanced gym-based routines, our physios work closely with you to target weaknesses, reduce pain, and improve overall strength and function.

At Le Physique we understand the importance of exercise rehabilitation to get you pain free and mobile. We have a variety of exercise packages which provide one on one tailored exercise programming by your physio to address your specific needs to ensure you are safe and achieving your rehab goals. These sessions can be used either in the Newstead clinic with a range of small free weights, floor workouts and reformer Pilates or within our resident gym, Grip and Grit in Harcourt St Teneriffe, allowing for more high-level strength and conditioning sessions.

We offer physio-supervised rehabilitation exercise packages and individual exercise sessions.
